Our journey

In April 2006, Swann Financial was started by Andrew Swann, Peter Cooling and Simon Pigott. They decided to join the St. James's Place Partnership to ensure they could offer their clients the best financial solutions for their needs.

Whilst they enjoyed some excellent years of continued growth, in 2015, it was time for a change. The team had outgrown their office and needed a larger location. In June, the team moved offices and moved to their new property, 39 South Bar Street, and we are still here today. Also, random fact, there is only one street named South Bar Street making it unique in Great Britain.

In 2019, the opportunity came to invite a new Director to the Practice; Ray Sommerfield, who had worked for St. James's place for a number of years, decided to become part of the team at Swann Financial. His experience in Inheritance Tax Planning has been a huge asset to the business.

At this same time Swann Financial expanded by taking on another practice. By combining the two Practices, they increased their client base as well as the number of Advisers and Staff. Giving a large breadth of knowledge and experience, enabling them to continue to provide the excellent levels of service to all of their clients.

After the impact of 2020 and Covid upon the world, their way of working has changed. By utilising the technology around them, they now have staff members that work from home as well as in the office. They have also used this technology to host video call meetings with Clients when seeing them in person has not been possible. This continues to be an option for all Clients when it is more suitable for them.

In 2022 Swann Financial welcomed a new Director onboard, Claire Gore. Claire has been a Financial Adviser for many years and has been part of the Swann Financial family since 2019. They are proud to have her as part of the leadership team.

With the Directors and Chief Operating Officer, Lloyd Gough, the Practice has gone from strength to strength. Together they have been helping lead the business forward, supported by strong Adviser and Administrative teams who always put Clients first and respond with reliable, personal advice designed to suit each individual’s requirements.

One thing that has not changed is the belief in having Clients firmly at the heart of everything they do, by developing trusted relationships and providing top quality advice through excellent Client Experience. This is centred around helping Clients to realise their goals and dreams and aiming to achieve financial security for themselves and their family, now, and in the future.

Another part of looking forward that is very important to Swann Financial, is that they promote and use Sustainable and Responsible Investment methods to help create a better future for all, in a World worth living in.
